Canadian Immigration 2021: Easy Provinces for Permanent Residence

Canada’s thriving economy and immigrant-friendly society is a very attractive prospect for skilled workers and immigration seekers all over the world. Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada offers many financial, social, medical, and professional benefits for anyone who can pass the application process.

The Canadian Federal and Provincial Governments manage the country’s immigration system. With tens of thousands of people applying to federal immigration programs each year, many immigration aspirants have turned to one of the best ways to immigrate to Canada: the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Provincial Nominee Program

The PNP allows each Canadian province and territory to select candidates and nominate them for permanent residence. If you pass, you will live in that province and contribute to its local economy. The PNP also gives a second chance to aspiring immigrants that fail to reach the federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff.

Through the PNP, provincial governments can regulate their population and economic prospects. This ensures that skilled workers and talented immigrants are distributed uniformly throughout Canada.

PNPs You Should Consider

There are over 80 PNPs all across Canada, and they each have unique eligibility requirements that respond to each province’s specific immigration needs. PNPs are generally designed to fill gaps in local labour and economic forces.

The following provinces offer future Canadians the easiest immigration process and most lucrative employment options:

1. Alberta Immigration Nominee Program (AINP)

Alberta is a Western Canadian province that has a large fossil fuel industry. It’s the fourth most populous province in the country, home to over 4 million people.

Candidates with a CRS of 300 (pre-provincial nomination) who qualify with the eligibility criteria (employment, education, language, etc.) are issued Notifications of Interest.

The AINP is divided into two main streams:

  1. Alberta Opportunity Stream – This is for candidates who already live and work in Alberta or have a job offer from an employer based in Alberta.
  1. Alberta Express Entry Stream – This is for candidates with federal Express Entry profiles invited to apply for nomination for permanent residence.

3. Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

Manitoba has a population of over 1.2 million, and it is located at the longitudinal centre of Canada. The MPNP is divided into the following streams:

  1. Skilled Workers in Manitoba – For current employees, temporary foreign workers, and students with post-graduation work permits in the province.
  1. Skilled Workers Overseas – For international workers with Manitoba support, experience, or direct invitation to apply. A minimum of 60 out of 100 points is required.

 3. Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

Nova Scotia is located in Eastern Canada and is the most populous of the four Atlantic provinces. The NSNP has eight different immigration streams:

Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities

Labour Market Priorities for Physicians

Physician

Entrepreneur

International Graduate Entrepreneur

Skilled Worker

Occupations in Demand

Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry

4. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Saskatchewan’s 2 million residents primarily live in the southern prairie half, while the northern forest half is sparsely populated. The SINP is divided into three main programs:

  1. International Skilled Worker – This is for applicants who have education and work experience in an in-demand occupation. No job offer is required, but employment is a key criterion.

  1. Saskatchewan Experience – For candidates with existing work permits.

  1. Entrepreneur/Farm Owner and Operator – For entrepreneurs, international graduates, and farm owners that wish to run their business while residing in the province.

Conclusion

Canada is one of the most popular destinations for aspiring immigrants, and their 80 or so Provincial Nominee Programs offer many options for you and your family. Your eligibility depends on your educational background, work experience, language requirements, and personal connections in the specific provinces.
