How to Migrate to a Canadian Province With PNP Streams

Canada is a vast country that warmly welcomes immigrants. It is the second-largest country in the world, giving immigrants ten provinces and three territories to choose from. People who wish to get permanent residency in this country often think that finding the “easiest” province is the best way to immigrate to Canada. The reality is that almost every province, except for Quebec and Nunavut, has specific criteria that they look for in immigrants. As long as you fit the nominated profile, relocating to these areas will be easy.

What Is a PNP?

PNP or Provincial Nominee Program is a program by the government dedicated to each Canadian province and the workers who want to immigrate and settle in a particular region. Each participating province in Canada has its respective PNP, which allows it to set qualifications, skills, and experiences for immigrants to meet and contribute to their province’s growth.

Every PNP has at least one immigration stream that makes the process easier, and currently, around 80 unique streams are participating in the program. Every stream is dedicated to a particular immigrant category. For example, there are streams for skilled and unskilled workers, for those taking international studies, and even for entrepreneurs. Each stream is also aligned with the Federal Government’s Express Entry selection system.

Why Utilize PNP and Its Streams

PNP is a helpful approach, especially for those who do not have job offers yet and are looking for the best Canada province to settle into. When you utilize a stream, qualify for all the set criteria, and get a provincial nomination for a particular region, the stream can award you with additional points on the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). These points can guarantee that you will get a government invitation to apply for a permanent residency.

Top PNP You Should Consider

  • Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

If you have no job offers yet and want to explore the province where the capital city and the largest city in Canada are located, try this nominee program. They have three express entry streams for faster entries. All you need is an active Express Entry profile and some work experience to be considered and invited for an application.

They also have a program and Express Entry that cater to French-speaking applicants. If you have a strong bilingual background in English and French, try the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream

  • Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

If you desire to live in a province near the sea with a beautiful coastline and fantastic cuisine, Nova Scotia is the province for you. Halifax, its capital city, is a major centre for culture and the arts. This province has various immigration streams. It also has the most extensive and advanced provincial nominee programs to choose from.

  • Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Another option for those with no job offer yet is Saskatchewan’s nominee program. Saskatchewa is a Prairie province that capitalizes on its agriculture, fishing, and forestry industry. If you want to live in a province with a vast grassland area, there are two active streams under the International Skilled Worker Category. One requires an active Express Entry profile, while the other does not. As long as you have the labour skills needed plus at least one year of work experience in their occupation list, you are eligible to apply.

Conclusion

Using PNP and Express Entry streams can be a good strategy for your quick PR approval in Canada. Although having set guidelines is convenient in many ways, finding the right fit for your needs may still be challenging. The right province for you still depends on many factors that need to be assessed and considered correctly. The best way to know which among the many options is best for you is to inquire with a Canada immigration expert who is well-versed in the field.
